At Thief Brewing, we’re all about bold flavours, local ingredients, and brewing bloody good beer that reflects the wild beauty of our backyard here in Tai Tapu. But every now and then, the world takes notice - and when it does, we’re stoked to raise a glass. Here’s a look at some of the recognition we’ve picked up along the way.
Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA) 2024
The biggest annual international beer comp on the planet.
🏅 Gold – “Nectaronicon” (Hazy IPA Category)
Our hazy hop beast, Nectaronicon, took home the gold. Juicy, punchy, unapologetically hazy—this one’s brewed with 100% Nectaron hops and a whole lotta love.
🥉 Bronze – Mango & Lychee Hazy (Contract Brew)
We developed, brewed, and packaged this exotic number as a contract product—and it still packed enough punch to earn some hardware. Tropical, smooth, and just the right kind of weird.
New Zealand Beer Awards 2024
Home turf. Local legends. National bragging rights.
🥉 Bronze – Feijoa & Lime Sour (Contract Brew)
A recipe we crafted from scratch—zesty lime meets tart NZ feijoa. Brewed and packaged by the Thief crew for a contract client, but still proudly ours in spirit (and stainless steel).
